Love is in the Air ~ Chapter 3

Read Chapter 2 (click to read)

Mia and Dimple chatted for almost four hours and about 4 PM .Mia decided that it would do her best if she took a little break from her routine. With a broken and tarred heart going ahead dint seem to be a good idea to her.

Dimple realized that Mia missed Ransh the most. Ransh was MR. Perfect for Mia. Despite the fact Ransh was different in every possible way from Mia, she loved him loads.

Mia detested the aroma of men's perfumes and deodorants but when Ransh wore them she hugged him like a little girl hugging her favourite teddy. There was indeed some inexplicable magic around him that she was always attracted to. She admired him even in the silliest attires possible. There was nothing particular that got Mia and him together. More than love-talks it was the heated arguments that formed basis of their strong relationship.

Mia was an adventurous Taurean- like the humble bull which would be very happy until hurt , once hurt the bull would never let the hurt get the better of it and rest only after a fierce give-back. So was the fierce nature of Mia – she never worried until trouble hit her. But once poked or hurt there was no recovery from her fierce flames of destruction. She was forcibly smart and indigenously bold - characteristics that got Ransh interested in her. Mia would hardly emote and giggle most of the time which would irritate Ransh .To him; she was an enigma as there was nothing predictable about her. She would cry at the drop of hat, whine about pre-menstrual cramps, drool over children at malls and was adept in changing topics while talking. In short Ransh knew his woman well and thought that she made the perfect partner for him. It was Ransh’s constant patience and confidence in him that held their relationship that long.

Ransh was a careful thinker and he never let himself to be in haste. He was methodical, ambitious and took long time in making decisions – a striking contrast to his girlfriend. This indeed made for a passionate relationship between them. He always admired Mia's whimsical nature that he often felt he was in love with a girl from the fairy tales. He was not overtly protective of her and let her act according to her wishes.

The fights between them would be for simple things like the brand of pasta they ate to more serious possessive fights. Sometimes Dimple bore the brunt of being a common friend as each would drag her in a way they wanted and justify their actions but Dimple would manage both her friends and try to patch the otherwise romantic birds.

Mia was reminiscing the days she had felt happy on knowing Ransh , the day when he came running from his posh beach apartment just because Mia complained about food at her hostel and got her an ice cream of her favourite flavour and on some hot summer afternoons he would walk endless with his girlfriend in arm , after a hauling day at work. They would chat endlessly and to divert either one from the other was tough because both were addicted to the other. Both enjoyed dining together, playing together and even swimming together.

All this seemed perfect like the mills and boon stories until one day Mia realized she could no longer understand Ransh’s restrictive tone and stupid desires that she called it quits. It was abrupt from Mia's end but Ransh could never believe that his girl whom he felt was his best gift could hurt him so much. He took the break up with a heavy heart and promised never to disturb her.

Mia ran all the events in her mind like a dream - the entire 3 years like a 3 hour film. The boy meets gal, the gal proposes, the boy rejects and finally accepts , they roam around , enjoy the most together, celebrate birthdays, enjoy hangovers ,  study late hours together, cook for the other and burn the food, and until a day comes- the couple part ways on differences in their opinion on the other.

Mia smirked for a while at the thought of how she had reacted when he had passed her a DVD of the Titanic movie and she chuckled with surprise “yuck this movie. I hate this. I can’t stand such sad ending stories. It’s dumb. Maybe I should watch it for the ship. I'm planning to sketch it next”
Mia would sketch in her leisure time and it was her fun-hobby.

Ransh was shocked that a woman of her softness disliked romantic movies and his poor-pooch like face expression remained etched in her heart forever.

Some other day they watched the animation flick Ratatouille together. Mia cuddled up near Ransh and played the movie in his laptop. He least expected that an overexcited Mia would drool on Remy more than him. He realized he had fallen for a woman who indeed was a kid at heart - enjoying every little happiness in world and smiling most of the time.

He was little upset on the fact that Mia indeed drooled more on a ‘rat’ than him. He even yelled “A rat- he cooks and you drool!!! I am human, I cook, walk for u , talk to u and all u do is to complain!!! Woman this is too much!!! “

Mia casually ignored his possessive tantrums and continued on “look at him Rannnnnn.. Just look at him how lovely he walks, carries the spoon makes an omelet with his sweet tiny fingers….I wish I was a rat and maybe a girlfriend of Remy!”

Ransh secretly checked his fingers and realized they were not tiny like the rat and wished maybe someday Mia would drool on him like she did on the rat.

Some pleasant thoughts and more were playing on her mind when Mia realized that she was smiling at her own image in the mirror and that her face was drying with the face-wash she had applied. She washed her face in a hurry and sat on her bed weeping once again.

She felt despite their huge differences they had so much in common too. Both would never stop chattering, one would try to get the better of the other, yell very badly at the other and yet would be softer when reconciled.

In reality both of their thought process was more like a game of snakes and ladders - neither the better.

Mia thought it would be easy on her but she had hardly moved on. She felt like she had got stuck in the time machine with her beloved. There was no moving out of it. She tried hard to ditch every memory of his until....
